Course and Cancellation Conditions for Continuing Education Programs at UZH – conducted by the Human Resources Department

Registration and waiting list

Participants sign up online on the Events and Courses website using their UZH login details. The registration is binding once confirmed. By signing up, participants confirm that they fulfill the course prerequisites.

If the course is already full, participants will be added to the waiting list. Being on the waiting list does not entitle participants to join the course. If a slot becomes available, participants will be signed up automatically. Automatic registrations that occur via the waiting list are binding.

Course fees

If applicable, course fees are listed in the course description. Once it is confirmed that the course will run, course fees will be internally charged to the participants’ cost center, or an invoice will be sent to their home address.

Course fees are payable within 30 days of invoice delivery. Participation in the course is not guaranteed if the course fees are not paid on time.

Withdrawal

Participants are required to withdraw their registration as soon as possible if they cannot take part in the course.

Withdrawals/cancellations should be done as follows:

  1. Before the registration deadline: via the Events and Courses / the participants homepage website
  2. After the registration deadline: via e-mail to hr.events@pa.uzh.ch
  3. Short-notice cancellations of less than 24 hours: via e-mail to hr.events@pa.uzh.ch; course instructors must also be informed via e-mail.

Cancellation/withdrawal conditions for paid courses

Time of cancellation Cancellation fees
Up to 60 days before the course begins free
59 to 31 days before the course begins 50 % of total course fees
30 to 8 days before the course begins    75 % of total course fees
7 days or less before the course begins 100 % of course fees (no refund)

Course materials

The materials needed for the course will be provided to participants. They are property of the UZH Human Resources Department and may not be passed on to third parties.

Course cancellation by the university

If the HR Department has to cancel a course, registered participants will be informed via e-mail to their UZH address after the registration deadline.

Any course fees that have been paid will be reimbursed.
