Legal Foundations and Employment Conditions

Most administrative and technical staff and academic associates are employed according to public law based on the employment act of the Canton of Zurich.

The employment relationship is based on the employment ordinance of the University of Zurich (PVO-UZH), the employment act of the Canton of Zurich (PG) and the associated employment ordinance (PVO) as well as the implementation ordinance (VVO).

Appointments under private law are governed by the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO).
