Machine translation has improved considerably in recent years, so much so that it is increasingly said to be en par with professional human translation. In collaboration with Sheila Castilho (DCU), Graham Neubig (CMU), Qinlan Shen (CMU) and Antonio Toral (RUG), Rico Sennrich and Samuel Läubli (UZH) compiled a set of recommendations for human–machine parity assessments in language translation, published today in the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research
