My research interests lie in the fields of experimental phonetics, forensic phonetics (and forensic linguistics in general) as well as dialectology. Furthermore, I am interested in foreign-language acquistion and teaching. Currently I am involved in the SNF-, DFG-, and FWF-supported D-A-CH project about vowel and consonant length in southern German varieties, collaborating with the Institute of Phonetics and Speech Processing of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and the Acoustics Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Science in Vienna. The dissertation that I write in this context concerns the influence of Alemannic dialects on Swiss Standard German.

I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Bern, where I studied English and General Linguistics from 2011 to 2015, with two semesters of English Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. In my BA thesis I explored alcohol-related deaffrication in Bernese Swiss German. From 2015 to 2016 I studied Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge (Darwin College) with a focus on phonetics and foreign-language acquisition. The resulting MPhil thesis concerned the dialects of the canton of Lucerne.
